Harry Belafonte 's been making the lately, promoting his new book and HBO documentary and dropping by the Occupy Wall Street protests. But the 84-year-old singer, actor and activist may be working himself a little too hard.
Video has surfaced online of Belafonte taking a snooze during a live TV interview with the local CBS affiliate in Bakersfield, CA on Friday. When the camera cut to Belafonte, he's seen sitting upright in his interview chair, napping peacefully. The anchor, Layla Santiago, tried to wake him up, shouting, "Good morning, Harry!" and "Wake up, wake up," but she didn't have any luck.
Update: that there were technical problems with the audio on the satellite link-up the interview was using. Belafonte may not have been asleep, but was rather "waiting for his cue" from the anchors.
